‘More comfortable than the Sheldonian at a fraction of the price’
St. Mary's is regularly used as a venue for classical music concerts, lectures, and other types of events. Tickets are purchased either at the door or as specified by the concert organisers. Regular ensembles include, The Oxford Sinfonia , The City of Oxford Choir and Oxford Youth Choirs, as well as various college music societies such as the Hertford Bruckner Orchestra.


A Bluthner Model 2 Concert Grand is available at St Mary's for use by concert organisers. An additional hire fee applies.

Sunday 11th May, 8pm - John Sheppard: Media Vita & The Western Wynde Mass
Gulliver Ralston directs the Choir of the University Church in a feast of John Sheppard’s liturgical music including Media Vita, The Western Wynde Mass and Gaude, gaude, gaude Maria virgo. This is a rare chance to hear a live performance of Media Vita, one of the 16th century’s truly monumental sacred masterpieces.
