St. Mary's is regularly used as a venue for classical music concerts, lectures, and other types of events. Tickets are purchased either at the door or as specified by the concert organisers. Regular ensembles include, The Oxford Sinfonia , The City of Oxford Choir and Oxford Youth Choirs, as well as various college music societies such as the Hertford Bruckner Orchestra.

A Bluthner Model 2 Concert Grand is available at St Mary's for use by concert organisers. An additional hire fee applies.

Oxford Philomusica Piano Recital, Monday 28th July, 8pm

SCHUBERT Piano Sonata in B major, D. 575 BEETHOVEN Piano Sonata No. 28 in A major, Op. 101 KURTÁG Splinters SCHUMANN Kreisleriana, Op. 16 Ferenc Rados is a pianist who can count András Schiff among his many notable students. He will open his recital with a pair of sonatas: Schubert’s experimental No. 9 and Beethoven’s often fiercely contrapuntal No. 28. Kurtág's Splinters – with its piercing shards of sound – and Schumann’s spellbinding Kreisleriana also feature in this exploration of pianistic composition.
