Saturday 19th July at 8.00pm: Oxford Philomusica Piano Recital
SCHUBERT Piano Sonata in B major, D. 575 BEETHOVEN Piano Sonata No. 28 in A major, Op. 101 KURTÁG Splinters SCHUMANN Kreisleriana, Op. 16 Ferenc Rados is a pianist who can count András Schiff among his many notable students. He will open his recital with a pair of sonatas: Schubert’s experimental No. 9 and Beethoven’s often fiercely contrapuntal No. 28. Kurtág's Splinters – with its piercing shards of sound – and Schumann’s spellbinding Kreisleriana also feature in this exploration of pianistic composition.
Tickets: £20 £15 £10 (unsighted) (from Tickets Oxford or on the door).
